Try as much as possible to avoid distractions such as social media. There are programs such as SelfControl which allow you to block yourself from certain websites for a set period of time. Make sure you have a designated area in the house where it can serve as an office. Go to that spot every day for work purposes and this process will train your brain that that’s the area where work gets done. Also ensure that this space is secluded so that your friends, family, housemates or children do not distract you from your work.

4. Reach out to people

Working from home can get lonely but it doesn’t need to be. Reach out to other telecommuters and and get yourself human interaction. Have personal and professional relationships that are beneficial to you. Also reach out to your co-workers to see how they are doing, schedule virtual meetings to discuss your plans for the day or week.

5. Practice self-care

Make sure that you are taking care of yourself by getting enough sleep that compliments your set schedule. Do not work in your sweat pants, shower and get ready for work as you would normally do when commuting to work.
